Seven Hills is a suburban area of Brisbane and is located 5 kilometres towards the east of the Central Business District. The name was given by the real estate that purchased land here in 1920s, R G Oates.
Between the years 1912 and 1926, the southern side of the suburb was served by a steam powered tram that connected Seven Hills to Norman Park. The service initially was operated by Belmont Shire Council.
The Brisbane City Council in 1953 recommended a trolley bus service that connected the suburb with Stanley Street’s Fortitude and terminated off the Oateson Skyline Drive. The trolley bus service closed operations on the 13th of March 1969, when the diesel buses took over the service.
