Carole Park is situated in the area of Ipswich near Brisbane. It is 19 kilometres towards the southwest of the Central Business District of Brisbane. The area was termed as a suburban in the 1970s. Before 2010, Carole Park was a residential cum industrial suburb. The residential part was in Brisbane while the industrial one in Ipswich. The division was made by the Logan Motorway. However, in 2010, the residential area of Carole Park was rechristened Ellen Grove and their postal code was changed. The remaining area of Carole Park is used solely for industrial purposes.
The area was quite sparsely populated till the 1940s. Only a few farms were located here. The area received electricity and water connection in 1965 and 1969 respectively. Housing was provided to residents by the Queensland Housing Commission in the 1970s.
